Sunsets & the Horizon

The valley the himitage looks out on is about 2 miles long. There is a farm house and outbuilding on the ridge to the right. Those are the only human-made structures that are visible between the himitage and the ocean, except for some electrical poles and wires. The rest is just land and trees. At 750' above sea level, I'm told my horizon is about 80 miles out. The shipping lane is 65 miles out, so, with a good telescope, it is interesting to watch the ships meander by. It is marvelous to watch the sun say goodnight to the ocean, in it's many different ways.
